Horrible week for comics. I hope he had experienced at least a fraction of
the joy he brought to so many of us thru his work.

Feel like I've lost a dear friend.  RIP genius and gentleman.

Enjoyed his art over the many years and it was a pleasure
to meet him for the first time back in 2019.

My peak comic buying years from the early-mid-1970s to the late 80s are chock full of Perez goodness. I met him a couple times at conventions and he seemed like a genuinely nice guy and a positive fan of comics in general. Some guys were just pros doing a job but somehow from George I got the feeling that he was really jazzed about what he was doing and it showed in his work.

This brought me to tears. It was the work of George and JB that made me fall in love with comics and gave me so much joy.

RIP George.  I'm just very glad he went out they way he wanted to go.  Being with his family and living his life to the fullest as best as he could until his death.  2 legends gone in such a short period of time hurts deeply.

Pardon me as I go cry now.

George and Neal, what a terrible time! Many thoughts to their families. The world we live in today is close to a nightmare, in many ways.

The world is a little emptier and smaller now.

Between Neal Adams and George passing things just aren't fair.

Sad news. Mr Perez was one of the first comics creators whose name I knew and would look for his work. He got me to buy my first DC books. One of the very greatest.

Rest In Peace

One of the most memorable interactions with a comic pro I
ever had was with George Perez at a Cincinnati Comic Expo
back in....must've been 2010 or so? Somehow I ended up at
dinner with George and small group (I think there were 5 of
us total) at a fantastic Brazilian steakhouse. George held
court the entire meal and was bursting with personality. I
think he really appreciated his fans and at the end of the
night we each got a great hug from the man. He will be
missed.

George was just the best - on the page, with the fans, just the best about everything. I'll always be thankful that I got to meet him, multiple times, and share in his love of all things - comics, theater, everything.
