And Leialoha inked Starlin on a few issues of Warlock and it looked nothing like that Ghost Rider comic.

Two of my favorites...JB and Jose Luis Garcia Lopez.

JB and Garcia-Lopez: gorgeous! I particularly liked the shading on Donna's leg in the first panel.

At first glance I thought the inks were Dick Giordano. Lovely either way.

Oops!  I guess Wally Wood inked Don Heck over on a very few (3?) issues of AVENGERS as well.  Well, good!  They look great together!  (Of course, Wood ALWAYS made the people he inked look great!)

Here's a page from AVENGERS #21--

I still dig that "full" Scarlet Witch headpiece.

Another potent combo...Garcia Lopez and George Perez. The Return of Donna Troy was one of the most beautifully drawn comics I have ever seen.

++++

Me, too. I really loved how the Scarlet Witch first looked when drawn by Kirby and Heck.

Another one of my all-time favorite single issues was AVENGERS #181, with penciling by John Byrne inked by Gene Day.  Day's inks added a special, very organic-looking finish to JB's always strong and detailed layouts.  I wish there had been more examples of this enjoyable team.

They also worked together on Amazing Spider-Man #206.

Gene Day over JB was  awesome. It looked a lot like Austin, in my eyes, because of the precise lines and the use of various raster films. I don't think his style was "organic", though.

Another rare example of rare pairings I would add to the discussion would be Jose Luis Garcia Lopez and Kevin Nowlan. I think their first pairing was in Doctor Strangefate and then worked again, but I can't remember where.

You just don't realise how much detail used to get lost
during printing until you see side by side comparisons.

Day's inks had a nice polish to them. Am I right in assuming they were over full pencils though? "Detailed layouts" seems a bit of an oxymoron.
