We can’t keep an ecosystem that is ready made for life in good nic.
What chance do we have of keeping a bubble ecosystem running?
Especially if it really would be fun how it is in Total Recall? Subject to the
thin skin of some billionaire?

I get sick on rollercoasters these days.
Rollercoasters? Hell, I'll get woozy in a car with enough dips and turns in the road (as a passenger; as a driver, I'm fine).
And my ears pop on high bridges. Don't even get me started on the partial deafness flights cause.
Even absent all that, I would still hate traveling. The longer the trip, the worse.
So...you can put me down as a "No"...

Two influences for "No"!
One was hearing in numerous documentaries the idea that to our knowledge, there is only one planet designed for humans and that everywhere else is going to be some degree of uncomfortable to instant death if our best technology fails. I'll stick to that planet!
Two was the idea from some guy who produced a comic book about space "truckers" set in our own solar system which had a pretty solid premise of, "Sure humans could survive in space if they were willing to be heavily modified with whatever the best (hah!) of genetics and technology has to offer!"
That was pretty horrifying and I hope that author is proud of himself for making such an impression on me!

Earth itself is so inhospitable to our species, I feel dizzy just thinking about going "elsewhere."
And Mars is far. The other day I watched a clip of Neil deGrasse Tyson explaining that if the earth were the size of a basketball, the moon would be 30 feet away and -- Mars a mile away.

That was pretty horrifying and I hope that author is proud of himself for making such an impression on me!••• That author actually, er, borrowed that concept from a Dell(?) comic called SPACEMAN which scarred him as a child.

Yes.I'm not claustrophobic, and far from finding images of mars a "desolate hellscape" or some such, I find them incredibly beautiful. I find the idea of being on the ground floor of a new civilization and new culture where everything you do matters to be deeply attractive.
