Peter we're just talking right? The article might be irrelevant to you, but I find it very relevant. There are dozens of others like it in the mainstream press. I said the mainstream press, not the Kremlin press. I was not "called" on anything. You can think I am sitting in a Kremlin bot farm for all I care. I believe calling people Kremlin stooges, spokespersons, is an attempt to silence them. The orthodoxy about the reasons for the war is wrong. I said I believe Ukraine has been cynically used in a proxy war. I also believe that Ukraine never stood a chance of military victory, and the only sensible thing is to negotiate. The longer the war goes on, the more Ukraine will lose of land and people.

It’s very easy to say negotiate when it is someone else who has been
invaded.
But we need to appreciate how we would respond if we were invaded and
ordered (for that is what Trump and others have done) to negotiate.
I can think of various wars that went on for several years where we and the
USA said ‘No’ to negotiation.
If the UK were to be invaded, I seriously doubt we would change that
stance, and I am 100% sure America would not either. So it’s a bit
disingenuous to insist Ukraine should.
Apply the same pressure to Russia together with the proviso that they
should give up the land they invaded.

Sure, but none of us are in a trench. People cheering for this to go on need to think about what that means. It is easy to sit online, and demand the war go on. The people arming Ukraine know full well that there will be no military victory for Ukraine. Do you understand that?

Yes. innocent Ukrainian men and women and soldiers defending their homeland are getting killed. On the other hand, fuck the Russian soldiers who are getting killed.
