I think it's fair to say there are a lot of Americans who have zero clue how the government works or how much or how little the POTUS can affect policy or day to day issues.

Unfortunately it appears the Republican party has become the party of the uneducated voter in terms of higher education and that shows when you see them interviewed at rallies.

Then there are the blind followers such as my uncle who was educated and successful before retiring, but believes EVERYTHING Trump says, no matter the evidence staring him in the face.

Nice one! Thanks JB.
Great to have a laugh on the subject of the election, as the tension is killing me.
And I'm not even American.

Trump's engaged. This is a compelling debate, and not just because I'm a nerd.

That was basically elder abuse. How anyone could watch that and come away thinking "Yes, I should vote for Trump" - I just can't understand it.

He's just a deranged lunatic.

On surface, bread and circus terms. Both parties wanted a bloodletting and got it. Trump has behaved like a caged animal before, but not with an energetic counter. It was like he was in his own Apprentice board room for a a change.

He actually yelled for a good part of the debate. If Harris yelled, she'd have lost the election. Of course, half the people watching found Trump inspiring and heroic.

I make a point to consume right wing whacko social media, so I was highly conscious of how Harris's half-dozen verbal stumbles will be constellated into Republican and possible mainstream discourse, but she was streets ahead of Trump's gibberish.

Trump said some truly insane shit. He said police were "the other side" on 1/6. He insulted Harris's father. He brought up the Ohio pet eating nonsense. He smiled and nodded when Harris brought up his felony convictions. He claims Democrats wanted Roe overturns. Bragged about his relationship to Putin. Bragged about his COVID record. And of course, self-righteously insisting, "People should never think an election is fraudulent."

I liked that Harris promised to be president for all Americans. That used to be standard anodyne, but Trump didn't bother. (W. Bush didn't either.)

In any case, Taylor Swift just endorsed Harris. It's over.

Vice President Harris: “Donald Trump was fired by 81,000,000 people…and clearly he is having a very difficult time processing that." 🤣

She roasted him!!
