I’m imagining various republicans angling to get Trumf appointed President for Life, thus dodging the Amendment. He’d not be serving a third term, just an attenuated second.

I’ve been saying this since he won this second term. If nothing else, he just
won’t leave. Rules and laws be damned. Nothing will happen to him.

My wife has a theory where she thinks he wants NATO to throw him out &
the stuff he’s been saying in recent days has been the start of that.
I couldn’t find an argument against her theory.
One thing is for sure, based on Twater- his followers have grasped this with
both hands & ran with it.

Trump made money only one time in his life,
that's when he was on "The Apprentice".
He's always been an awful businessman
(hell, he lost money running casinos!), but
he's good at marketing himself.

I've learned not to say "can't" when it comes
to him.  For the last four years I've been
hearing variations on "Oh, Trump is gonna
get it this time!", none of which has ever come
to pass.  I think I can say with a reasonable
amount of certainty that he will be President
until the combination of old age/bad health
remove him from this mortal coil.

In the meantime, and I started saying this long
before the election, we will never be rid of him.
He will be in our face day on and day out.  So
we'd better get used to it.

Bannon recently pointed out nothing was said that a President can't serve more than two terms if it's not consecutive. I was waiting for Trump or his minions to realize and exploit that idea.

Bannon is an idiot because the 22nd Amendment language is pretty clear. There’s no non-consecutive term loophole.

“No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once.”

If they are looking for a loophole for a third Trump term, it would be appointing Trump Speaker of the House and then getting rid of both POTUS and VPOTUS.

******
So is he wanting Trump to serve this four years, wait thru the next term then
run again? The fucker would be 86 by then if he managed to make it that
long.

But as Michael said, the Constitution prohibits it.
