In my current home for 18 years, and just this past week my wife has done little spruce-ups, e.g., new picture frames, vases, table cloth for the dining room, assorted tchotchkes, not that anything was bad or broken -- simply for a bit of a new, fresh look.

You do anything like that, JB?

As a pathological accumulator, I am constantly “refreshing” the contents of my house.

I guess that's one of the few reckonings where having the years seem shorter provides some kind of benefit!
