Brian,
I know the feeling.
20 years ago, at the tender young age of 39, I visited a cardiologist due to having occasional chest pains and aching in my left arm. After having a cardio catscan where I had dye injected into my arteries, it was discovered that I had some blockage where I needed quadruple bypass.
I broke down and cried once the doctor gave me the news.
The first 3 weeks after surgery was rough (had to sleep in a recliner ....was afraid to move around...), but recovery did go well.
The moment that I knew I got over the recovery hump was one night into my fourth week of recovery, I was home alone and able to lay flat on my bed. I slept without the use of the chest harness (and the stuffed bear 😁) and did not have any issues. I was out for 9 hours straight.
As some of you have stated, I was able to have a better life after my surgery.
Brian, YOU GOT THIS!!!!!🤜🏾🤛🏾
