"'Mazing Man" was both funny and poignant.  A real mid-80s gem that was gone in the blink of an eye.

The last comic I thought was genuinely funny was HANK JOHNSON, Agent of Hydra, written by David Mandel (Seinfeld, among others) with art by Michael Walsh.

This is my first comic book I ever wrote for Marvel Comics. Over 20 years in the making! Featuring amazing art by Michael Walsh, with a variant cover by him and an amazing cover by Amanda Conner.

I dunno. Another great disappointment for me—and was it really funny?

It certainly has its moments!

Was it mostly Howard Johnson, or was Cleese an active part of the process?

Cleese was mostly an “advisor” — which I didn’t know going in.

I found those original Ambush Bug issues laugh-out-loud
funny. I'm scared to revisit them, lest I find out that
they really weren't all that funny.
