"Nice grab, Vinny. Is that the page that has Hercules looking upon the room with a “wine, women and food’” declaration?"

--

It is! And the panel you speak of has a handritten-in-pencil-by-JB caption under it that says "Zounds! Let's party!"

Haha! Nice. Every time I enter a room that has some sort of party
atmosphere, that panel comes to mind and more often than not, I’ll say
“Zounds!”

Is that Avengers page one of the ones that Joe Sinnott cross-inked (is that a term?) for the FF annual?

Yes, for about 5-10 pages towards the end. For years I thought that something looked "off" about a couple of those Baker pages - turns out that Joe Rubenstein inked a few panels on them to help him out. I think I recall Baker saying that they were roommates at the time?

Interesting. Now that you mention that, it's pretty clear that the Cap panel on this page isn't Baker.

Yep, that's a Rubenstein Cap in that panel. But interestingly, that's almost definitely a Baker Cap and Reed in the first and last panels. A trademark of Baker's inks was that he tended to ink eyes completely filled-in without pupils in far-away shots. So that does lead to the notion that they were in close proximity working on some pages together.

Yes! I love that panel. The perfect shot of Hercules. When my wife and I got
to our hotel in Vegas last week, that was the first thing that came to mind as
we entered the casino hall.
