I haven't been around in quite some times. As some may know, I have lived in Hong Kong for more than 20 years, more precisely in what is called the New Territories. I work in the town where there was a huge fire, killing 146 people ( as of the time of posting ) with many still unaccounted for. So, it is most likely to rise.I saw the smoke from the office, as we are on the 22nd floor. The whole area is just around 15 minutes by walk from my office.I do not live nearby and so my wife and I are safe, but some colleagues, or former colleagues did, and they lost their home. Some friends of friends lost their parents. It is a huge tragedy. I pass by that place to commute between home and work, and to see those blackened buildings is awfully depressing, but thankfully, there is a huge sense of community within the population, and people will heal from the scars of that terrifying experience. The night it happened will stay with me for a long time. We were in the train, fully packed because the traffic was totally blocked. In the dark, the only thing you could see was all those buildings on fire. Everybody in the train, looked at the windows at the same time, and you could hear a huge and simultaneous "Gasp" of chock of horror.Make sure you live your life the fullest, and remember to say and show your love to your loved ones daily.
