I really love the 1950s artwork where everybody looks so nifty in their new gleaming homes.  

Some of these remind me a lot of the work of the late Bruce McCall, whose retro-futuristic stuff was often featured in The New Yorker.

Afterwards, we’d get to ride the giant grasshoppers!
