It’s a bit of a lengthy YouTube video, but Hank Green talked about some of the early photos they’ve sent home, as well as the significance of those photos.

We've been accustomed to so much over-the-top visual effects in movies & TV for so long, Evan, that those photos are stunning in their simplicity. A wonder to behold!

Yeah, I love the imagery. New wallpapers for my myriad devices and I played that video for my students today.
