I'm actually surprised he was as young as he was!  Only a year younger than my own mother, he would have only been in his early 20's during his initial 1970s Marvel heyday.  Quite impressive when you think about it.

Sad to hear, a name that was always around, for as long as I've been reading comics.

Gerry was responsible for writing two of my absolute favorite comics, Superman vs Spider-Man and JLA #200. His "Conway Corner" of DC comics were my favorite DC comics when they were being published.
