The search function revealed no posts on this topic, so hopefully I didn't miss something.

A million years ago in the early 00's, I was in school studying mass communications to one day work in radio. Kinda feel like I dodged a bullet not pursuing that career. Funnily enough I don't think I've ever loved radio, although there were a handful of stations I used to listen to back before technology changed all our listening habits, but I was always a huge fan of talk radio, especially shows like the Howard Stern Show.

I'm slightly embarrassed to admit I also used to listen to Opie and Anthony and Bubba the Love Sponge, both of which cause me to cringe if I even go back and listen to the episodes I used to think were entertaining.

I think it's been easily 15 years since I last actively listened to radio, but in the last several years I've really gotten into podcasts and audio dramas. For those of you who enjoy Doctor Who, I can't speak highly enough about the range of audio dramas presented by Big Finish, which feature the voices of the original cast, ranging from Tom Baker's Doctor (still kicking and recording!) to some of the modern Doctors like David Tennant.

But pertaining to the specific topic of this post, I'm a big fan of the following podcasts:

Critical Role and Dimension 20: I enjoy roleplaying games like D&D and these two shows are the apex of the genre in terms of streaming, in my opinion. I've almost entirely ever just listened to them in podcast form, while exercising or driving.

Startalk with Neil deGrasse Tyson: I've learned so much great science and math from just listening to the discussions on NdGT's shows.

Cult of Cornette/Drive Thru: If you're a fan of professional wrestling, Jim Cornette is like a walking, talking, and cussing Library of Alexandria when it comes to the history of the genre.

From time to time I also have enjoyed listening to podcasts featuring the creators of shows like The Last of Us and Peacemaker discuss the production of various episodes.

If you listen to podcasts, what are your go-to shows? I'm always hungry for good content.

One of the last things that Rob Reiner did before he was killed was a podcast with Soledad O'Brien on the JFK Assassination.  It was a ten-part series that explored involvement by the CIA, the Cubans and organized crime.  I really found it to be very well researched and produced.  It is available all over, but can be quickly pulled down on Apple podcast (formerly iTunes).

Scott Gardner, one of the founders of the Two True Freaks Podcast Network did an amazing and personal show commemorating to 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. It can be found here:

Edited for spacing.

I get sucked into history podcasts *hard*. Two of my
favourites are Mike Duncan's "The History of Rome" and
"Revolutions". Rome came first, but Revolutions is just
insanely fascinating. Be warned though, they come with a
serious commitment - HoR is something around 200 episodes
(though they're mostly in the 20-30 minute range), and
Revolutions is just a behemoth, when you combine all the
various revolutions he covers. Robin Pearson's "History
of Byzantium" follows quite nicely (by intent) from HoR.
Oh, and the BBC's "The History of the World in 100
Objects" is quite fun as well. Oh, part 2 - and talk
about a time commitment - Dan Carlin's Hardcore History
multi-part topics are always engrossing, but I liken them
more to audio books than podcasts.

Lately, I have been listening to the Prof G Markets. I'm
not much a fan of Scott Gallaway, but the co-host is
pretty good.

Another show I listen to is Tigerbelly with Bobby Lee. It
is a comedy podcast. My daughters don't like me watching
because the jokes can be offensive.

I was a solid podcast listener from 2013 until just last year.
Marc Maron leaving the format made me realize no one else was all that
interesting.
I did find Start Talk, Bill Nye, and Andrew Huberman to be a great listen.
Smartless was the final nail. Vapid.
