I need repairs on my driveway, so I tried a google search. Of the six companies recommended only one answered, and they turned out to be a landscaper who doesn’t do driveways!

Efficiency!

Dear GOD do I miss the goddamn Yellow Pages. Anytime I have a home repair project that goes beyond my DIY capacity, I find myself delaying simply because of the DearthScape of Information that's modern Google.

I miss Google pre paid results and especially AI.
It’s so hard to get the actual topic you want answered, answered.
I’m seriously considering moving to another search engine, I just need to
Google which is the best alternative.

Yeah, Google has monetized itself to such a degree that its results are largely useless.

Google's results are often less than helpful. I hope you found a good contractor, JB!

I have had better luck finding local contractors through the Nextdoor app.  The neighbors will usually tell you who is good and who to stay away from.
