I am a big fan of the old swashbuckler movies along Nightcrawler. Loved the stuff Claremont did with Kurt in Uncanny X-Men and Excalibur with his sword fighting. The recent story arc in Amazing X-Men brought that back. I really like the combination of Ed McGuinness and Dexter Vines. I picked this pages from Amazing X-Men #5 up from Ed's rep. Great combo of Kurt sword fighting and teleporting ta the same time (Boy I miss the lettering on the artwork). Dexter does some killer inks over Ed's pencils.
Just back from the Gem City Comic Con in Dayton, Ohio. Kevin Eastman was the main draw for me this year and I had high hopes of landing a Raphael sketch. Well, he wasn't sketching today after "over doing it" on Saturday so I had to settle for the little head sketches he includes with his signatures. I like to think I now have all four turtles!
I had him sign all four of my Turtle books I've had since I was a kid. It was nice to meet one of their co-creators, I was just the right age when Turtle Mania hit.
Last one from Gem City 2014, Andy Bennett's take on the cover to Marvel Team-Up 68. I requested the black costume because I thought it would suit Andy's style and I hadn't had anyone else go that route yet:
Received another fantastic Shadow Strikes cover by one of the most over looked artist. Eduardo Barreto I think did some of his best work on Shadow Strikes, his covers are amazing. Love the texture of the shadows.
