Paul Pelletier--This piece has a loooong history in that the person who arranged it and took the money for it never actually paid the artist. When Paul found out, being the stand up guy he is, Paul completed the piece anyway.
While I still think someone deserves to be prosecuted for what was done to JB's art during his 2005 stint on ACTION COMICS, I thought this flying sequence was neat and I'm glad to have it in my collection:
It's page 6 from ACTION #833 inked by Lary Stucker.
This splash had been on Jim's site for a long time and I knew I would eventually snatch it up if no one else did first! My first page from the first GENERATIONS series.
Fun little thing you probably can't tell from the scan...in blue pencil an editor questions whether there should be another set of quotation marks around the word "well...?? at the top of the page. JB (I assume) responded in regular pencil with an emphatic "NO!!"
I'm a sucker for an opening splash like this one with the credits, indicia and all that. Great shot of the United Nations Building. Had to have this. I notice this is my third straight new page without any character's faces on it. Ha! That's got to be a record. I shall remedy that with my next posting...
Thanks Daniel! JB is one of the best in the biz at the "other stuff" besides the typical dynamic figure poses and action scenes. I thought this was a nice page showing off that skill.
Tom Grummett just finished this one for me.A slight twist on my iPod theme. My first iPhone commission, been thinking about this for a while and figured Tom is the best one to pull it off. He did a great job.Don't you just hate it when the telephone booth is Out of Order.
What is a Super Man to do?
These days its hard to find a telephone booth they have gone the way of the dinosaurs.
