Ari-when I saw that Kelly Jones Bats, I laughed my butt of thinking about
you trying to track Jones down. As I paid Art my $1, I thought "well, this is
as close as Ari's gonna get"...
I then proceeded to buy ALL the Batman drawings Art had just done, as well
as a requested Robin. To make it even worse, I had to ask him to add the
actor's name to the 1940's serial Batman, cuz I actually had a picture of the
guy in my ref folder at the time.
cuz I'm a dork.
And I will try to scan some more soon...

For my friend's birthday I decided to get him a Fred Hembeck commission of Batman and the Joker since he's a fan of Hembeck and Batman.
And since I was at it I sprung for a cover re-do for myself - one of my favorite comic's cover.
Needless to say I am quite pleased with both.

I asked Fred about a few covers I was considering (Giant-Size #2, Avengers #161, 141 & 181) and he sent me examples of #141 & 181 that he had done previously, and recommended that I go with GS #2 since it had nice layout and good contrast for black & white - and mainly because it was my favorite.
Fred was terrific to deal with, you could not ask for someone to be more cooperative and patient with a first-time buyer. I will certainly order another from him in the future.
