Ok, officially jealous over here.
Have to confess that the Baltazar stuff leaves me fairly cold on the whole, but I definitely must get myself that Chris Giarrusso TPB. There's something in his stuff that's so darn amazing, and that Spider-Man piece shows it all.

A JB Manhunter sounds excellent, Gerry. You should get cracking on that.

Last Giarrusso from Mid-Ohio-Con:

I gave him some Who's Who books for reference. These go nicely with my Darkseid commission from earlier this year.

My Alan Davis head sketch:

This is the one that required me getting to the show about 90 minutes early on Sunday! I was first in line for Sunday. I requested Darkseid or any other New Gods character of hi choice. He said Darkseid would be fine. Part-way through his drawing he asked if i had a reference. I pulled out my Kirby 4th World Omnibus and said, "You can't do much better than a Kirby reference for a Darkseid." Davis corrected me, "Really," he said, "if you want to draw a Kirby character you should get a John Byrne reference!" How cool is that?
