King Kong vs. T-Rex by Mitch Byrd.
http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Page=1&Orde r=Date&Piece=485052&GSub=50798&GCat=0&UCat=0
I asked Mitch for King Kong in my monster/horror movie character sketch book and when he told me he was only going to charge me $20 for an 11 x 17 sketch, I insisted on paying him $50, so he then insisted he add him fighting a dinosaur. Seriously, this sketch is beautiful in person -- the details in the rendering are mesmerizing.
And when I picked it up he STILL tried to only take $20 for it. I gave him $50 whether he liked it or not!

Mitch's stuff is truly amazing. He sells many different sketchbooks and they come close to showing the tones and shading he creates. But seeing them in person is the best way to get what he really does best. He and I go back to our days at USM and his work just gets better and better. And I believe you about him reverse haggling with you John. That's the way he's always been. Proud to call him a friend. Here's a cover I got from him when he was doing Guy Gardner. Pretty big contrast with your piece, but I like both styles used.

I love the Mitch Byrd pieces. Both are amazing especially to see a sketch from John and a completed piece from Wes.
