... and the other two Mckone pages that I picked up. This guy's work is addictive!

I had wandered over to David Finch's table and was talking with him briefly while watching him work on some commissions. His line was extrodinarily long and I commented that I don't think I'd have the patience to wait in line for God if it was 2 hours to get to the table. I picked up a sketchbook from him for myself and a friend and then bought this common page from him.... though there isn't anything "common" about it.

I spent some time looking at the detail of the above page and enjoyed my conversation with him so much, I did in fact wait for a bit to get him to do this piece for me the next day:

Lloyd, the Gibbons page is amazing. He can do no wrong in my opinion. Very nice Finch DD, Fred. The McKone pages are great too.

I echo Joe's words about Fred Hembeck. Had heard he was away too as I was asking him about a piece. Great to deal with. As is Jim Warden. If they worked for Marvel they'd have to be "Happy" Fred Hembeck and "Gentleman" Jim Warden.

I like those recent Spider-Man pages, but man I miss the word balloons! I wish they'd go back to putting them on the pages again.

Brad, I have stated those same words many times and had a handful of artists agree with me over the past few years. It really is part of the finished original art in my mind.

Yeah, I miss the word balloons too --- often I want a page because of what the page says, not just for the pictures.

Really like that Giordano Batman -- reminds me of a Mike Grell piece in a lot of ways.
