First of three commissions from Mike DeCarlo:

He offers these nice charcoal portraits so I let him take a shot at Bob Dylan!  I gave no reference and the choice of vintage was totally up to him.  Looks like a late 60s Bob to me.

DeCarlo commission number two (of three):

DeCarlo is a frequent contributor to Bongo's Simpsons comics so I asked for a Simpson-ized Bob Dylan!  Again, I gave no specifics about the vintage Dylan I was looking for.  This one looks like an 80s Dylan (notice the earring).

...and commission #3 (of 3), of course, how could I resist?

I asked for a "Simpson-ized" version of the Marvel Team-Up cover and he immediately had the idea for a Bart Simpson Spidey and replacing Man-Thing with Comic Book Guy (Comic Book Guy-Thing?)!  I told him to go for it and I love the way it turned out!!!!!

Cool pics, Joe.

***

What I really like about the John Buscema pages I posted (besides that I now
have them - yipeeeee!!!) is that there are two completely different styles of
inking, but Big John comes shining through.

Also, definitely an example of how effective 'less is more' actually is.
