I didn't.
I studied artists like Franquin and Dik Browne.(!)
The balance and the proportions matter more.
Then I studied "kroki" - looking at naked chicks posing, drawing my butt off.
Nothing beats the naked body when it comes to learning anatomy.
Books really dont matter.

Arc, I did it as a "Graphic Novel". It's like 88 pages and it never got
printed or anything, other than copies for my friends and I so far. I'll find
you some links to the pages sometime today. w00t!
Marc, its just about scribbling it out for eternity. I took figure drawing
classes at the Art Institute of Chicago, that was good practice. I used to
shun the notion of drawing from "wire-frame" when I was growing up
and I'd just draw everything straight out, then one day when I wasn't too
much older I was like "Oh, the stuff in those 'how to' books actually know
what they're talking about". Get yourself one of those little mini-person
human figure models, pose it, and sketch away. A Good excersise is to do
it timed too. So give yourself like 15 seconds to nail a pose, then you're
done. That kinda thing.

Well Marc i learned anatomy from Leonardo DaVinci books when i was a child at school,but the main thing i do is i never worry if my drawings look wrong i don't care about getting it right because then it makes me get to hung up about it,i only spend about five minutes on each drawing i do.

Mikael Bergkvist: I really don't know much about digital coloring.
JT Molloy: I'll be waiting then. 88 pages is a lot of work. I think I've only completed a couple of short stories (4 of 5 pages each in B&W) in recent years.
