Those days brought out all kinds of thoughts and emotions, to say the least. When 9/11 happened I was transitioning from law practice into academia, so while working I was also attending classes at Columbia to earn my MA. On 9/12 campus was closed, but when I returned on 9/13, what I was greeted with immediately upon passing through the gates was several groups of protesting students blaming Israel for the attacks.

Growing up, a teacher taught me that there are a handful of events that get "ingrained" in peoples consciousness and they can always remember where they were when they heard the news.

Pearl Harbor is one. The assassination of JFK is another. In my lifetime, for me it's been the Challenger Explosion, the events of 9/11, and the day the world shut down for the pandemic. I wonder if there are others for other people? Specifically world events, not personal ones.

Ah, the day the world shut down for the pandemic. Remind what the specific date was of that again?
