Well, a happy accident for us!!!

I still remember the day I bought that issue on my way home from high school, opening the issue while riding the bus home and doing a double-take when I saw your name in the credits. I frantically thumbed through the pages to see what you did, and for a moment mistook the Klaus Janson pages as yours and feeling a bit disappointed. Then I flipped the actual pages right after his and I was in awe.

Does the "average" penciler at Marvel/DC get to pick their inker or are they just assigned? Do the top tier artists have a say?

And if you know your inker, do you change how you draw, or do you stick to your stuff an hope it is comes through? (Thinking of examples of Colletta's changes to Kirby, *cringe*)

Love the inker questions/answers - have one John Byrne page from Marvel Two-In-One with Thundra and on the original page you can see a change penciled in her hand which wasn't inked thus never showed up on the printed page.  Funny thing is the inker was a vet in Joe Sinnott.  Guess he felt it was too crowded (page 12 issue 53).  Looking at the printed page again I can see that but on the original page (larger size of course) there is tons of room.  Guess that was part of the learning process for Mr. Byrne (it was printed in 1979, probably drawn in 1978).

This page got my interest in collecting original art started and also did that for a friend of mine (he has far more than I do now).

I thought Williams had claimed he was offered the job of inking Elsewhen but declined?

In a Facebook thread that's been deleted, he said he'd received the offer "about a year ago" which stuck me as odd as this was late June/early July and JB had announced his intention not to go with Marvel on June 5th 2019.

There are elements at Marvel who still think this is going to happen, so confusion is not uncommon.

Today's page is... wow. Things are about to get real.
The lines are so much darker today--did you ink this, JB?

Ut oh!

The last panel has me thinking about that panel that Neal Adams had with the focal point being Cyclops' right foot!

Not inked, but for some reason the scan was very light, so I darkened it in Ps. A bit too much, perhaps!

Love when guest stars appear. Been so long since we saw JB draw these characters.
