Wow, that last panel of the down camera angle on the Silver Surfer Is iconic. Just goes to show the image doesn’t have to be large to be eye popping.

If it was me with optic balsts and not Scott, I would probably have accidentally hit the Surfer.

Awesome page today. I am on pins and needles about how this story is going to play out.

With regard to social media...when new folk discovered the internet chiefly via phones, the type of platforms they prefer seems to have shifted. The amount of interactivity/user-input seems to have dropped as a result of the limitations of the cheaper device. Maybe the other site is more phone-friendly---more like watching TV.

I enjoy both spots. This is the place to go if you want to hear JB's thoughts on something. The other location is spot to go if you want to discuss JB's art on a larger scale.

What exactly can be discussed anywhere else that cannot be discussed here?

Artists (and fans) have opinions. On storytelling. On how the process is achieved. We think about how we'd approach something, or try to see how far we can figure things out. Its in our nature. But it can, and has come across as questioning the process. And frankly, I don't think this is the place for that. To me, THAT'S disrespectful to you. You're doing this, giving it away for free and clearly enjoying yourself. I don't think I'm alone in saying that this is the single best comics related thing I've had in years. But if I, or anyone else, wanted to have a discussion about why you chose to do A instead of B or C, I don't think this is the place to do it. Its disrespectful to you and can come off as complaining... which it isn't.

Those types of comments here generally get a well deserved "sigh" or "Aaargh."

To me, its the same type of discussion I'd have at my LCS.

Sounds a whole lot like talking about me behind my back.

If there’s something to say that can’t be said here, maybe it’s not worth saying.

That Byrne Victims FB group has about 8000 members.

Just imagine for a moment what that would be like here.

Every post would have hundreds of responses that mostly echo each other.  You can see on the FB posts that most people respond to the original poster without reading the other responses.

I'm a little surprised that the person who runs that Facebook group has so little respect for the wishes of JB.  I don't quite understand why he can't just announce that a new page has been posted, and give the link to this site.  What's in it for him?  Vanity?

And that’s a justification for pirating the artwork?

I think it has more to do with accessibility.  People use Facebook for a lot of reasons and it's just easier to also talk about interests there than on a message board.

A lot of message boards I frequent seems to have less traffic in general.

Pirating JB's art is inexcusable.

I must not understand how FB works. The infrequent times I look there I see

Whereas on a message board I see

What am I missing?

There may be 8,000 members there, but the
vast majority don't comment. If I had to
guess I would say there are probably 50-
100 people commenting regularly every
week.
