After a few moments of admiring this page for a multitude of reasons, it struck me that a scene such as this would often be a final page reveal and we would have to wait however many days to get to the next issue. That “next issue”/page is tomorrow! Of course, it could be a Storm and Namor page, but still...

You all know me well enough by now to know any sort of development like this is going to be followed by “MEANWHILE...”

One thing about cutting this subplot is that it’s accelerating what comes after. I don’t think you’ll be too unhappy.

Hey! Does the Jean that appeared in FF 286 have that "Dark Phoenix" Dark hair?!? As opposed to THIS Jean we're seeing which appears to have the "open hair" of "True Jean" ? Was that a secret clue that FF 286 Jean wasn't "true Jean" ?

Did you actually LOOK at 286 before you asked?

One of the reasons I followed this page with a “meanwhile”. You already know this stuff.

Nice. Ends speculation on odd ball stuff before it got too nuts. Jean back without it being stretched into a 10 issue event (advantage of a writer not needing to sell event issues or giving it a double chromium die cut cover or something). Heh - picturing that for an online book now - everyone put on your VR goggles before reading this issue and accept the extra $3 charge for effects.
Enjoying this a lot more than the old return of Jean from the 80's. Same basic concept, but I'm a lot older and more accepting that 'its just comics' so no need to get annoyed that dead isn't dead, or that Scott is now married with a kid who he will now abandon for his ex come back to life. Wonder how much all of that made me really hate the return of Jean back then, vs anything else. Ah well. Doesn't matter. This is more fun. Hmm...wonder how life insurance would work in the Marvel Universe - fine print that says 'if person xyz comes back to life then a full return of any and all insurance paid plus interest is expected within 60 days'.

This is the page we've all been anticipating since Lilandra revealed that Jean was at the bottom of the bay. It's a pitch perfect page. I don't think I've seen Jean look better.
