Pablo is just a kid -- there are limits to what we'd want him to do!

Question is, how does anyone impose those limits?

Alt-Magneto clearly had some knowledge of Pablo and Ashley.

Perhaps Magneto has just enough info about Pablo and Ashley to make him underestimate the kids as well.

Of course, both Magnetos obviously have spent considerable time researching and searching for mutants. Perhaps Alt-Magneto simply stopped when he assembled his M-Men. So he might have an idea of current mutants... but not not a big idea.

Eric - Alt-Magneto had enough knowledge to know that Phoenix was from a copy of Jean, that says he had a LOT of information going into this excursion.

It sure sounded like Magneto was aware enough of the kids to chastise Beast for underestimating them. But being aware of Pablo doesn't mean you understand what he's capable of. I'm not even sure Xavier is at this point. Especially if you mess with his friend Logan.

The evolution of Pablo’s relationship with Wolverine was something that happened almost entirely on its own. One of those fun little things that happen sometimes when I let the characters “write themselves”.Consequently, I am also intrigued to see where it goes.

This is gonna sound odd, but the archetype of personality that Logan has seems to organically pair with kids for writers. The final Wolverine movie was built on that energy, and it may not be a coincidence that it was the most well-received of the bunch.

Why am I expecting one of those 'meanwhile' pages next? Just feels like a cliffhanger moment here.

Logan (the movie) was consciously emulating the acclaimed Shane which also paired up a grizzled veteran (gunfighter) with an innocent. The contrast is life affirming in so much that youth's innocence allows the man who has seen too much (whiling dealing out death) to reconnect with the living.
