Martin Gray, I'm with you on your opinion of the selection process. I'm even more aghast at the selection of eras and costumes chosen.

The figurines series of Marvel and DC, aside from the scale fluctuations were great. AND iconic for the most part.

I'll have to check them out, Perry. Thanks for the recommendation. If the figures themselves are the same size and quality as the chess pieces I might just break them off and stick them on chess bases.

That's what I've been doing so far. I didn't like a lot of the ranks characters had and I have no use for more than one chess set so I've been doing a hybrid set and remounting a lot of the charcters on different bases and in some cases remodelling them or repainting.

Sucks cause with the exception of Kingpin and maybe Carnage there's nobody else I want from the Spiderman universe in my set and I still have three pawns on each side to get, nobody left on the avengers or xmen sets cut it for me. They really couldn't stretch to a punisher or kingpin piece given the popularity of daredevil on neflix? Really irritating to be this far in the project of a perfect Marvel board and maybe never get to finish it.

Snore...I do like the sculpt on the noir figure, but not for anything related to Spider-Man. More of a generic bad guy in hoards of dozens.

The Carnage pawn is pretty bad ass. I'll get that  think but the other three are quite mediocre. Still pisses me off they went with a Spider-Man set. Cheers for the update, Francesco.

If the Spider-Man noir figure is smaller in scale than the Ted Kord Blue Beetle, I will repaint him in Kord Colors and make him Blue Beetle by Gaslight. Yes, I am insanely OCD about scale. I suppose I can rationalize the actual Ted Kord as being injected with Bane's venom or Professor Hugo Strange's monster serum.

Does anyone have any advice on removing the figures (both lead and resin) from their bases (both original and chess) for customization?

I want to not screw it up, so I appreciate any sound advice.

Thanks,
Perry

So many boring, unrecognizable (to me) sculpts, but Kraven is pretty darn sweet.

I know! My main complaint is of all the non-iconic costume choices!
