After 4+ years, I've been hit by the bug again.  I left a couple of key Alpha Flight characters unfinished, one that I scrapped completely and am restarting with a different base figure.  I'm going to work on those as well as a couple simple repaints for now.  I don't have a ton of free time these days, so these will take a while.  Looking forward to it!

I have finally added the last of the original Flight, Snowbird.  I've started and restarted her with three different base models and none of them worked out. I had originally intended this Destiny to become Nemesis, but in the middle of sanding down her face so it looked like a mask (oops), I realized that the cape was all wrong, but that it would work well for Narya.  I may buy another Destiny and start all over so she doesn't have half a nose and lips, but this will do for now.  Now I'm not sure what do do with the Enchantress I stripped the paint off of.  Probably just repaint her.

.

The JB Guardian is still my favorite piece by far, of course!

Here's a custom War Machine part I put together for the Marvel Chess set. I'm doing a Punisher piece next and then maybe Kingpin. Any other suggestions?

There's a new figurine collection out soon (UK):

I'm surprised by this.

Firstly, Panini aren't usually known for this sort of collection (Eaglemoss have specialised in it for years). Panini did stickers (do they still do that?). Panini Comics is the official reprint licensee for Marvel in the UK. They also publish other comics and magazines, such as DOCTOR WHO MAGAZINE. I'm surprised they have entered this (crowded) market.

Secondly, I suspect collectors will have already bought a lot of Eaglemoss collections/figurines. This looks like more of the same.

As for the magazines in such collections, they don't tell most of us anything new. Sure, if you're a new fan, you may learn about Spider-Man's origin, but when I read certain magazines in these collections, it told me nothing that I didn't already know.

That Panini collection was released in Mexico last year. It was originally, and is currently, published in Italy. I do not know what is its deal, they have around 10 figurines from the original Eaglemoss.

Overall  I do not like the collection, lots of them look like cheap plastic toys but... I liked their Green Goblin more than the one from Eaglemoss; they used the real Dr. Octopus; Magneto, Hela, Sentinel and some more nothing to complain about. It is a very uneven collection, Cyclops, Marvel Girl and Angel are in their original uniforms (in beautiful yellow and black) but they have a horrible modern Ice Man with long shorts.

Take a look at their site ( http://www.centauria.it/shop/collezioni/marvel-heroes-3d/ ) but their best in my opinion are:

The Iron Man figure in issue 2 looks to have a bit more bulk than teh Eaglemoss one. looks like Eaglemoss has removed their collection from their site (unless I've just missed it) - which is weird as they were in the process of reissuing it

I am bewildered by this collection. It seems like saturation point.

We've had numerous figurine collections (the chess collections, special collections, etc.). There's also a Marvel history collection which is a magazine.

I am not sure who will buy this because Marvel figurine/magazine history collections have been ubiquitous since 2005!

After many many moons of working only on smaller miniatures, I've decided to scrap the Ms Marvel-to-Phoenix custom I started in the 2016 pic above (which ended up just plain bad) and stripped all the paint and hair I added.  While I'm at it, I'm going to try my hand at another Byrne original character (if I can get the belts filed off and damage repaired well, that is).
