There's another version of The Belt in Best of DC Blue Ribbon Digest No. 2 Batman 1979.  I took a pic but I can't seem to scale it down enough to fit here (maybe I'll post it later).  It was the first version I read almost 30 years ago and one of a few key reads (Swamp Thing #7 was another) which made me realize that comics had more potential than I'd previously realized.

If I am not mistaken this one was the first comic of John Byrne for DC.

That Neal Adams image probably is the most classic and popular Batman image ever. You say "Batman", I think to that.

And it's the wallpaper of my portatile pc, too!

Anyway, I have this story in b/w and I can't imagine it colored! The pages posted early in this thread seem almost "new" to me, being I so used to read the story in b/w.

Gerry sez:
"heres an example of Neals original cover, followed by the redrawn one by Dick"

The 100 PAGE SUPER SPECTACULAR cover really was an exception: the original art couldn't be located & the printed version was too dark to get a good shot for reproduction for the reprint. The next best thing was to get Dick to do a recreation. (Well the next best thing would've been to get NEAL & Dick to do a recreation, but I can see how that could prove problematic.)
