Just finished reading CATCHING FIRE and MOCKINGJAY, the second and third books in THE HUNGER GAMES trilogy by Suzanne Collins . Highly recommended. Really great characterizations. Fantastic, edge-of-you-seat action, unexpected twists and turns. Genre fans should check them out. Don't be afraid of the YA label that's been attached to them as I think they're fairly adult in nature. Looking forward to hearing about the upcoming movie adaptation of the first book.

Just finished Hell House by Richard Matheson. Loved the movie since I was a child, and the book was pretty damn good, too.

Just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo to see what the fuss was all about. The first half was very difficult to get through, the second half was good enough that I went ahead had The Girl Who Played with Fire sent to my Kindle. But, before I could get to that, I read Stephen King's Blockade Billy in a single sitting and have just now started an oldie of Edgar Rice Burroughs that I somehow missed - Monster Men.

"Last Night in Twisted River" by John Irving
and also "I Found This Funny", a collection of comedy pieces edited by the amazing Judd Apatow. Excellent selections in this one.
I always seem to be reading a book or novel alongside something like this - a collection of shorts. It's never deliberate. I always plan to just read the book or novel, but collections and magazines are forever in the reading mix.

Working my way through "Autumn" by David Moody...as Joey would say, "I have to put it in the freezer."Just finished the free sample of "Robert A. Heinlein: In Dialogue With His Century, Vol. 1 - Learning Curve" by William H. Patterson, Jr., from iBooks. The sample is pretty good, takes you up to his plebe year at the Naval Academy. If I had the spare $14.99, I'd happily pay for the rest of the book.
