Apparently they went with the Paul Smith version. He had a habit of occasionally rendering the mask as brown -- which is basically a literal interpretation of the "color not found in nature" of my design. The dark brown parts of Wolverine's costume I drew as black with brown high-lights, extending to solid black in the mask. Also on the boots.

Incidentally -- on the question of whether this is a "suit" or a "uniform", I find "costume" is perfectly acceptable. To my mind, there is only one character who wears a design uniquely his own yet should still be referred to as being in uniform, and that's Captain America.
