I'm doing a multi-media presentation tomorrow and against my better judgement I need to include a piece on my "hobby".

I'll need a "graphic" to illustrate this, so decided to do something "new". I thought most of the businessmen that will be there are likely to know very little about what looks like a good comicbook drawing as you and I might. I chose to go "simple".

That decision made me think of toons...so I banged this graphic together, sketch, inks, scanned and coloured in twentyfive minutes.

(Batman Illustration)

I'm happy that this will do the job in underlining the "comicbook" interest I have.

I do like that.  Very fun.  I think you should have opened the "can" on them and busted out something more akin to your specific style.

Wouldn't have mattered, I guess.  Businessmen or not, most folk look at drawings/illustrations for about 8 to 10 seconds and say, "cool".  And thats it.

Let us know how it went.

Good action.  Looks like you hit the perspective pretty good as well.

I guess in all honesty it was "time" as the overriding factor, here I spent less than half-an-hour to have a fully inked and coloured piece. If I was doing that "for-real" chances are it'd be more akin to four or five hours.

I couldn't justify that sort of time to the boss (the Mrs) on a non-paying gig;-)

(You Joe illustration)

My only observation of that figure is he doesn't look as engaged in the action as the others.  Looks like he's just there.

The others figures look dynamic and well posed/placed.

Quite understand.  The time vs. quality issue is something I deal with at work all the time myself.

I'm just being selfish and want to see you draw a bust out Batman like you do...
