Yep this is pretty good and of course you can add more detail by hands
as needed.
As far as water goes there is no easy answer. If you are talking calm
surface water, you can use several filters in the Distort menu, Ripple,
Twirl, wave, etc. But be careful no to over do it, the can look fake.
Here is a link to colors I did for Mark Yanko over his drawing with some
water (warning, mild nudity)

Other types of water really depend more on the traditional drawing skills.
Here is an underwater scene I did for one of the weekly jams
It's mostly hand drawn with some filters added.

Thanks Vlad for the help. Love your drawings.
I'm seeing more and more that a lot of this is to just experiment until
you get a result that you like. And I agree that over effects is
a bane to modern digital art. I try hard to stay away from too
many effects and get the look I want by simply drawing/painting
it. A lot of my process is taken from the way I used to do
airbrush art, but now with digital, I use the eraser tool a bunch to
get highlights instead of trying to spray over the area with white.

At least you didn't try to drop a bunch of effect on the photo to make
it look like you drew it. I see tons of exaples in modern comic
that folks are using skys and building skylines to enhance their
illustrations. I think if done tastefully, as you did, it can
work and look good.

Still fixing up my studio...now I've started on the laborious task of sifting through the thousands of pages of old artwork...sheesh I've kept some crap!
And to think about two years ago I "halved" the artwork I had throwing a lot of it out in the recycle bin.
Tonnes of old stuff getting bagged and boxed up for the attic...joining stuff that was bagged and tagged last time.
Thought I'd scan in a piece:
I had been developing a Fantastic Four "clone" team to play about with in a Fanzine sense and gave them a "Danger Room" which they programmed in with some comic book characters for training purposes;-)" Great fun drawing them.
I may scan in more, if I come across something else that grabs my attention.

Whoah...stumbled upon this page...I had started for a submission to Marvel. This would have been '92 to '94 somewhere I'm thinking more '92 making me...twenty-one at the time I drew this.

Darren - That's a pretty cool idea. Have any more pages from it? Love the drawing, too.

Assuming, as I am, that you are talking about the first image I posted. That was a panel, quite late on during the development of a team I called "the Challengers" for fairly transparent reasons.
I have lots of developmental stuff but all pretty useless really beyond what I "learned" from them and moving on! If I come across more I'll post it. Knowing as I type this I've already tagged and bagged a shit load.
