Thanks David. The next one is a basic sketch at the moment. My reimagining of the classic Superman scene from Dark Knight Returns but I’m going to set it in the 40’s Golden Age era of Superman.
This shows how insanely slow I have got at drawing and (particularly) colouring -- posted an inks only version of this back in June. Still working on it three months later...
I could almost imagine that Superman scene as an alternate Action #1, 1938 cover, sort of Fleischer like too which is nice.
That cockpit is actually interesting and looks like something functional (and the screen reflecting on the visor is a nice touch). Some kind of air and high altitude/space craft?
Whenever you get the means buy a new iPad Pro and use the Procreate app and you won’t look back mate. If you’re accomplishing that with a mouse, imagine what you do with a stylus pen.
Here's something I colored on the computer but hoped wouldn't look like it. I really liked the style of this one cartoon show I saw only a few times before it disappeared, it was probably better in Japanese.
One of my favorite designs for a villain ever (was shocked she never became the major player she should have been); The Silver Banshee.
Initially I tried doing the all black version but that takes a lot of attention to structure and making it look right was difficult so I did a dark grey version as well. That JB could consistently use the blacks and white to define form with only the absence of lines is a testament to his skill. And also why most artists who interpreted her since her introduction cheated a bit like I did.
