Anthony, the fact that your older stuff did resemble J.B. is there for all to see ...But i got to tell you it is because it your stuff once did but now doesn't and your new work rocks is why i respect your work so much .It would have been easy to stay apeing his style but you didn't and devloped your own style which works.

Matt-I scanned the art in GREYTONE, then used the paint
bucket. Since it fill only white area the remaining grey speckels
and ta-da!!
Anthony- It's funny, i never made a conscious decision of
changing styles,and i realize thats becouse no one ever told
me to. Most guys are always berrated becouse they draw like
this or that and they never manage to let go of their influence.
I still do not have a style that is unique but that may change.
Brian-thanks buddy.And no i never did like giving away 15%.

What i think is important is that your style of art has evolved from where it was to what it has become and what it will end up being.
I went along the same route you have gone Anthony. I began drawing after seeing comics and my biggest influneces were John Byrne and Gene Colan. i became an almagam of the two different styles of art until it became something different to hopefully now .Thou i haven't perfected my skill hopefully it's different enough that people no longer say oh you draw like so and so. Now people can look at your work and they wouldn't nessacryliy say you draw like John Byrne. You draw like MAC now....
As far as my art and people saying i drew like Gene Colan i'll present this to you.. The first time i met Gene Colan i had samples i asked him for his advice he took my pages and was about to sign them. He stop and said oh i'm sorry for a second i thought they were some of my older stuff. I was flatter to say the least thou i don't say i did it as good as he did but you can imagine if the man himself thought it was his......Thou he may have been drunk at the time :)
