It is! It’s modeled after the one I use every time I take the train into NYC. Something I could not have imagined doing when I lived in Calgary!

Man! Just the subtle detail of the weeds growing through the tracks - a lot of artists wouldn't think of that...
and the rest...well, anyone who says your artwork is not at its highest level is nutz.

I've always liked the quiet scenes you draw JB: those of houses, furniture, drapery, etc.  They're just gorgeous.

Beautiful pages, JB! The quality of the drawing on the faces, particularly on that second page, and the backgrounds... it's all sky high.

I want to read this story.

Holy Moley! More stuff. Who are those people? Why are they there? Ack!

Agree with the station. Dead on suburban station. The catenary engineer I work with would approve!

I really like the van. Makes more sense than a limo.

For which, much thanks!

When I was starting out, I knew I would never haver the power of Jack Kirby, or the quirkinesses of Steve Ditko, or the elegance of Joe Kubert, the photorealism of Neal Adams—but I had to have something to call my own.

I’m a masochist, so I chose one of the hardest things to pull off in comics: subtleties. The turn of a wrist. A raised eyebrow. And the bits of business that build backgrounds most readers won’t even notice, but create verisimilitude.

Well you nailed it because I can go over much of your later work - it was there in the beginning but not to the level of what you later became - and see those subtleties done like few others have.

After all these years, it's kinda mind-blowing to see a continuation of this...

Beautiful pencils and quite a tease.

Speaking of “1980”, do you have any recollection of the X-Men Colour
album you were going to do with Chris and Terry around the time of
issue 137?

Marvel did follow up on it, years later. Not too well, as I recall.
