So sorry for your loss JB.
That final trip to the vet is one of the hardest things to do.

So sorry for your loss, JB.  A little over a year ago my cat, Murphy, went through a similar series of events as you described.  Taking her to the vet that last time was the single most difficult thing I've ever had to do, despite it being the right thing to do.  Not a day goes by that I don't see or experience something that reminds me of her.

I adopted a brother and sister pair last November.  I had Murphy from a few weeks old up to the age of almost 17.  The years had dimmed my memories of what kittens were like.  Oy!

Having a cat that long makes her family, not a pet. Sorry to hear this,
especially since it wasn't that long ago that your dog passed. Definitely
makes it feel weird in your own home for a while.

I've lost three cats in the last two years, including the one I considered my best and truest friend in all the world. I'm still not really over any of them, and there are moments when the memories are more real than the real world.

My deepest condolences and best wishes, JB.
