I hope the majority (f not all) of American soldiers who die are those who voted for the clown.••• There is never a good reason to wish for the death of American soldiers.

He just really, really wants to be a wartime president.
*******
More than he wants that Nobel Peace Prize, it would seem.

He’s been raised to believe his wealth (however much it may really be) can buy him whatever he wants. He could carpet the Middle East with nukes and still expect the Nobel Prize.

I'm watching Rubio on Face the Nation saying the US hit Iran with devastating surprise attacks but all the US wants is to sit down and have direct negotiations for a deal. Vance has said they are not at war with Iran but at war with their nuclear facilities, which is laughable.
The most likely next steps now are surely some kind of retaliation, followed by escalation.
Trump has initiated hostilities with Iran without even consulting Congress.

I wonder if what we are seeing is ‘compartmentalism’ taken to its extreme. Along with the ‘it’s just business’.
Compartmentalism through their ‘we are going to bomb you, but that’s just the nukes, you need to make peace with us, even though we just dropped a bomb on you’
It’s just business being an excuse to do anything you want and being mystified why the person you do it to hates you for the rest of your life. Especially when what you have done has ruined their life and the place they live for decades to come.
I had a work colleague who left under a cloud. They caused hassle for the company through malicious intent that cost the company thousands but more importantly, also a massive amount of extra work, stress and anguish for many of us over a long period of time. ‘It’s just business’. They couldn’t understand why those of us who had kept in touch cut all ties with them, because it was anything but ‘just business’.
I really get a sense from this pack of clowns that they have the same mentality.

I wonder how the Trumpers will feel when he reinstates the draft.

I’m not sure that’s actually the case. Did MAGA get mad with the withdrawal of troops? Yup…because it was Biden. Had it been Trump, which he could have/should have done, they’d be celebrating him. Did Republicans support the invasion of Iraq? Yup…and so did Democrats at the time. That it was based on ginned up lies about WMD only came to light later. MAGA also wasn’t a thing after 9/11. It didn’t even have that moniker yet. There was no loose affiliation among various groups that believed in the atrocious “Lost Cause” bullshit or “Blood and Soil”. What they have now is a common belief in retrenching from the World Stage, closing off borders, bringing manufacturing back to America and generally going back to the Jim Crow era Gilded Age where they see the country as the best it’s ever been. That’s my sense of their wonky politics, so to speak, and their white Christian Nationalist ideology.

…bringing manufacturing back to America…••• The bulk of American manufacturing being moved elsewhere came about due to ever rising production costs. I wonder how eager MAGA mites would be to support the rise in prices that would accompany manufacturing returning to these shores?
