Kitty, although inexperienced and immature, appears to have more of the makings of a leader than any other of the X-Men, excepting Cyclops. She's smart, decisive, confident, passionate, brave, etc.!

No doubt, Kitty is a scene stealer!

Honestly, I was worried you might have trouble writing Kitty since she
was a teenaged girl and the least experienced team member and might
mainly be there for comic relief, but you came up with a way (once
again) to surprise me by having her save the day. I was expecting
Wolverine to come rescue everyone somehow.

Btw I loved the panel showing Colossus able to survive in extremely
hot temperatures. Is that the same for freezing temperatures as well?

Colossus has been shown to actually generate heat—Dave once drew an extremely ticked off Peter steaming as he waded ashore after being dumped in the ocean—but I don’t know about the other end of the thermometer.

Once again (and again and again, I expect) not publishing this at/thru Marvel was MY decision, not theirs.
*****
Even though it was your decision, implicit in that decision is the notion that something was found wanting in whatever discussions were held, something that prevented what should have been a slam dunk.  I'm not asking (really don't want to know because it matters not in the least; the result is the same.)   Just sad at the outcome.

Nice double-page treat. The art looks great and as Doug said, Kitty really is the scene stealer. How is Modok ever going to get out of that pickle??

I'm amazed Modok is even alive!   It's going to take some serious mental concentration to separate his molecules from the wall molecules.

It would be insane if you did a Captain America:
Elsewhen next. LOL

Rick: I'm amazed Modok is even alive!

I thought the same! Is the wall actually going through his head? That's wild!

STAR TREK and even NuGALACTICA cautioned against materializing “inside solid rock” or pretty much anything else. The assumption is the result would be death—tho there are different notions on how quick that death would be. Instant? One hopes! But if we go back to the “empty space” image of so-called solid matter we may find ourselves contemplating someone being still functionally alive—thinking—until they die of suffocation.

Nasty.
