That was a terrific first issue! Thank you for sharing with us all. I put out a call to a few comic-loving friends, and I have hopes that the word (and views) will continue to spread further.

It’s amazing, isn’t it? Something I’ve said gets taken out of context and spread and respread all over the interweb. But THIS is practically in stealth mode!!

True but it is pretty easy to spin text out of context to whatever ends you like...turning this into a BBBS requires perhaps more brain cells than your average Byrne-Basher has.
Remember that time JB drew a year of the x-men (fan-fic) and gave it away....yeah, the barsteward!
Edit---felt the swear word needed masked.

I agree Drew! A self contained adventure told in one issue. And like my comics of old a decisive victory yet leaving open the fate of the villain. Even uncertainty with Lykos, "I think he's dead". Enjoyed it thoroughly!
I've got a title for Mark's fake letters page; X-Men ElseNotes

I read the whole issue again in its entirety, and it's just as strong as a whole as it was as a serial. Thank you so much for this, JB - it would be a gift in any form, but to get serialized pencils is just perfect.

JB: But THIS is practically in stealth mode!!
—
I’ve suggested this online comic to a few friends — and every one of them came back saying they couldn’t find it.
2 things —
Looking for “Fan Fic” seemed to confuse some of them because they think of JB as a professional, not a fan...
And the Fan Fic button can only be found on the first page... if you miss it there and go to the Forum, you won’t find it.
Hope that info helps.

Looking for “Fan Fic” seemed to confuse some of them because they think of JB as a professional, not a fan... •• Okay, offense taken. I AM a fan. A BIG fan. Of comics, and of these characters. That I used to get paid for drawing and writing their adventures doesn't alter that fact. And the idea that it's difficult to find this section of the Forum because the button can "only be found on the first page" is ridiculous. For a first-time visitor, ALL the buttons can only be found on the first page. It's not rocket science.

I don’t think anyone meant you aren’t a fan of the characters — it’s very obvious you are! I believe (and I’m guessing) some people think of “Fan Fic” as “not created by professionals” — or “the work of a fan, not a professional”? In some backwards way, I think it’s meant as a compliment. Sorry for the confusion!

DAMN, JB.... this first issue was amazing to read!!! Brought back many childhood memories of reading my favorite era of the UNCANNY X-MEN... and I'm glad you kicked things off in the Savage Land and brought in MODOK as the first foe the team faced off against. Anxious to see what other characters you decide to bring in.... tho' you've dropped some serious (visual) hints so far!
Thanks for making this X-Men dream come true, JB. Patiently waiting for the next issue!!!
-C!
