Thank YOU, John! Since reading your comment, I've been walking around with a goofy grin not unlike Kurt's as he deactivates the image inducer!

A few months ago, I so wished that Elsewhen was going to be published by Marvel. Then JB decided not to do so. I get why people are curious, but I figure that it's absolutely none of my business. And then, the reason why I wanted this to be published in the first place -- to read a great X-Men comic by a great creator -- is still realized.
I'm enjoying the story (what is up with Jean Grey?). I'm enjoying the incredible art (JB was born to do this). And I'm even enjoying the (generally) one-a-day serialization (after a long work day, how cool is it to come home and find a brand new JB X-Men page waiting for me 5 days a week?).
Thank you, JB.

Not only is getting to read great X-MEN stories by a great creator realized, Shawn, but it's unfettered by ironfisted editorial decisions and the threat from production gnomes! This, and we get to enjoy the purity of JB's pencils.

One of the greatest joys of working on this little exercise has been knowing that a scene I conceive for a specific purpose will be USED for that purpose.

And with this series JB makes it very clear that Kitty doesn't have to be a ninja. It's amazing that in 40 years no one else could figure it out.

Kitty got caught up in the ninja craze that swept thru Marvel and DC. And, as you say, there was no reason for it.

Kitty's special is a huge asset for the X-Men, clever (= Cyke) use of an otherwise apparently weak power ala JB's Suzan's forcefield...this fight was a must !!!

Kitty's power seems so passive by nature some people fail to grasp that it can also be weaponized.Mind you, reason in all things. I had to say no to Chris a few times, when he suggested she could phase thru dimensions, or thru time!

Phasing through time... That must be what the filmmakers were thinking for Kitty when they had her take what was Rachel Summers' role in the movie version of "Days of Future Past"!

Kitty may not be a super genius in your stories...but she is surely no one's idiot either. (Of course, idiots don't get to be X-Men.)
It's so good to see these characters again, as i think they are. I know you didn't create them... but it seems that you own them nonetheless.

Of course he did. He eventually used every bit I’d said no to.
