If these are things that will be explained in future issues, please disregard that last post.

JB, properly leaving to our imaginations what "damage" Wolverine inflicted, could you please offer a little about how Magneto survives that kind of brutal attack?

Crazy as Wolverine is, I would imagine that as a soldier he recognizes that a wounded enemy is of greater value than a dead enemy.

[Magneto] fighted Colossus with his bare hands!!

••

Can Magneto ever be said to truly have "bare hands"? The power is always with him.

And isn't Magneto wearing like a full suit of chain mail?  For some reason, I've always figured he had full mail under a layer of "protective cloth" based on the drawings of his costume over the years.  So if he's got metal under the cloth, he would be bolstering that with his EM control

Richard P. - eminently sensible. And it's far easier to fly if you've got an entire suit to move magnetically. He can probably reinforce that armor with his powers as well.

In the first panel in which Magneto appeared, Kirby drew him as if wearing a chest plate. Instantly forgotten!

Doesn't he have metal fibres woven through the fabric of his cloak and costume? I thought I read that once. Probably in Scientific American.

Wallace, Peter David did a weird story early in his X-Factor run that had one of Madrox's copies turn rogue and murder another duplicate, which then Madrox was unable to re-absorb.

And doesn't Madrox NEED his costume to stabilize his powers?

(when I was a kid, I thought Madrox could only make as many duplicates as he had "dots" on his costume)

I miss the days when a character's costume had a purpose and explanation.  Like Cyclops' visor being changed because his powers had increased after the escape from Krakoa or changed during this run

Not assuming it's intentional, but I love how this series shows us different kinds of force fields:

Previously, Wolverine couldn't cut through a Sentinel shield with his physical claws.

I assume Magneto always has some kind of strong magnetic field around him - presumably different from the Sentinel field. The idea that Wolverine can push through Magneto's field to any degree says a lot about his strength and the sharpness of his claws.

(It also makes me believe these new Sentinels really *are* more advanced.)

Not trying to read into it, just musing. I love stuff like this. See also how Cyclops' force beam acts differently than a laser does.
