So many cool thing to look at! The sentinels getting into their weird ship; the Vision coming to his senses amidst a fractured landscape; the Vision flying through Cap; the Vision emerging from the ceiling.

Great page!

Branes, short for “membranes”, and my choice for leading contender as birth parent of the universe.

And, today, we'll sit back and wait for a few heads to explode. . . . . .

Wow -that is one heck of a well illustrated page...

Could it be the Avengers are finally going to help?  I mean, I do get it: you can't have the Avengers repeatedly fix things as it would take away from the X-men's heroics and all... but sometimes you just want to shake Cap a bit and say:  "How can you let all this anti-mutant stuff go on?"

End of rant.. :-)

The problem with the "shared universe" concept is that, if played "logically", every book would be an extension of THE AVENGERS. None of the Avengers individual members would ever have to face an enemy alone, and all the other heroes would know they could call on the Avengers for help at any time.

Same with DC and the JLA.

And that would make for boring comics.

Loving this issue!

Has the Brotherhood's attack on Kelly happened "off-camera" in this new continuity (as we don't have the events of DOFP)?

Very boring. Not much point having the Rhino go on a rampage through Manhattan if, for example, Spider-Man could simply swing on over to Greenwich Village and ask Dr. Strange to handle the situation in about half a second.

Exactly. Plus I'm playing with my ol' cumulative time travel, so there will be more revelations to come.

Now I'm curious as to who foiled the attack!

Heck yeah, this page is all kinda of great! However, in my effort to find a new way to praise the art skills of Mr. Byrne:

Paul raced out of the house, saddled his horse and set off down the lane. His worried wife tried to stop him to find out what manner of news caused her husband such a start… was it the British? Sadly, she was too late, off he went. In the distance she heard Mr Revere’s cry echoing down the holler… “Wake up! Wake up! it’s no surprise the latest posting of John Byrne’s art is a feast for ye eyes!”

Maybe it would be more accurate to say I'm curious as to how it played out - how much of a change to events Cyclops' presence had.

My first thought was that, as we didn't see the new version of events, someone else foiled the attack but, actually engaging my brain, there's no reason to think that!
