For a time, Claremont became obsessed with the X-Men's powers going awry - Storm losing hers, Kitty stuck in phased mode, and Colossus stuck in metal form, all at the same time. I don't recall if the topic of Peter (or Kitty!) needing to eat came up during that time, though.

There’s no comparison between Kitty’s power and Peter’s. It certainly wouldn’t affect her need to eat.

(I didn’t know about Chris having her get “stuck”. Pretty sure I don’t want to know how he handled it. He was getting her power wrong right from the get-go.)
