Some form of nostalgia makes these re-purposed images from the 80's really suit this series of fan-fic covers.Walt Simonson on the cover of alt-X-Men #168. Doom style for #169.

I have to say these are “working” on my brain.

The covers help me place the Elsewhen stories into their context with the
original series and, partly because the actual stories that were produced
after John left did not really flow from what John had helped set-up, the
Elsewhen stories are just pushing memories of the other stories aside.

That is so great to read, Doug. Here is the next issue-- alt-X-Men #170 (I realized I had transposed the covers for 169 and 170 in my mind-- rereading the issues made me recognize my mistake).

I'm too worked up about it to finish the cover for the last issue (choke) of Alt-X-Men.But, in the event of an "Omnibus" edition, I started messing around with this old portfolio plate that could conceivably go on a back cover.
