I like the way JB extended the second panel above Peter's head. It's a subtle reminder to the reader that there's substantial distance between him and the surface.

If Peter would have listened to Professor Xavier and assumed his metal form before diving into the water he would be in a better situation. I'm curious as to why he would think the Professor is testing him.

Hmmmm....Peter is in metal form...so he isn’t in danger of drowning (I assume). We can only hope Namor isn’t too out of it from whatever zapped him to drag the big guy up from the bottom!

I like how it feels like we are underwater even if you don't see the previous pages. Surprising how rarely that seems to happen in comics. The air bubbles make sense since he just came down and is walking on the bottom.
Now I need to go re-read some of my old Superman issues to see the 'coloring page look' - I vaguely remember those issues but haven't read them in decades. Should be fun.

I really like being inside Peter's head for this moment and hearing his thoughts
- it adds a depth to the character and story. And it's brief enough to be
happening in the moment!

Maybe I am just imagining things...But am I seeing a face amongst the sea floor in the last panel? Similar to a "Barney Rubble" in a detailed rubble scene? I do not recognize the face though so it may just be my imagination.

Despite reading comics since 1983 and being a voracious reader of the Handbooks at the time, this is the first time I learned Colossus does not need to breathe in his armored form. I just don't remember this.
Did I forget this? Was this introduced in some issue I never read or overlooked? Is this "new" information?
I vaguely remember the Claremont & Cockrum issue when the X-Men first went into space to battle Stephen Lang. But I don't remember this as a point in that issue. But it might be just my memory.
Does anyone remember when this was established? (A general answer is OK. People don't have to hunt down the specific issue.)
