I don’t like him? What have I ever said or done to indicate such a thing?

My objection is to his work and business habits. As a human being he occupies virtually no space in my brain.

Liefeld seems to be the type of person who thinks that anyone who criticizes his art, work habits, or business practices hates him as a person. The ironic thing is that Liefeld has criticized the work and creative decisions by other creators and editors, while at the same time saying that those very people that he criticized are very nice people.

I remember Chaykin because a buddy had him draw a sketch in his GREY MOUSER hardcover (he had a Mignola sketch and a PCraig Russel sketch in there already).

Steve Coates:: "A single occurrence was found where (where John Byrne and Howard Chaykin) both attended, but it was the Great Eastern Convention of 1994 in New York."

************************

Semi-related but not pertinent :: JB & Chaykin were sitting next to each other chatting/trading barbs most of the time I was in line waiting for a pencil sketch from JB at the 1979 NY Great Eastern Convention.

I imagine any story about sitting next to Howard Chaykin would involve trading barbs :)

I remember the Novi con. I was told the town got its name from being the sixth stop on an old stage line. No VI.

True?

That sounds like something from an old science fiction story.

More specifically like something from a Jack Finney story.

I looked it up. There are half a dozen origins for the name. One is the stage line depot.
